[Product Update] Google reCAPTCHA integrating into Google Cloud Fraud Defense

Effective April 23, 2026, Google reCAPTCHA has been integrated into Google
Cloud Fraud Defense. This platform provides agentic trust and control
access across surfaces. Using global intelligence and AI-resistant
challenges, Google Cloud Fraud Defense helps ensure frictionless access for
legitimate automation and blocks malicious activity throughout the user
journey.

Under this new brand, Google reCAPTCHA specifically only refers to our
visual bot defense technology, which continues to exist as a feature within
Google Cloud Fraud Defense.

We’ve provided additional details below to guide you through this new brand.

What you need to know

Key changes:

Branding: The name Google Cloud Fraud Defense appears in the Google Cloud
Console, documentation, and billing statements.
Data Processing: We are also confirming that the previous communication
regarding reCAPTCHA’s transition to a Data Processor went into effect on
April 2, 2026 under the service’s new name, Google Cloud Fraud Defense.
Starting on that date, Google processes your data in accordance with the
Google Cloud Data Processing Addendum.
Continuity: There are no changes to your existing service levels, pricing,
or support structures.

Potential impact:
There is no impact on the technical functionality of your integrations.
Your existing site keys, secret keys, and API calls continue to function
without interruption.

What you need to do

No action is required. You do not need to update your code, API endpoints,
or configurations.

Timelines:
The new brand now appears across the Google Cloud ecosystem since April 23,
2026.
